Aarav's POV
The hall throbbed with the joyous energy of the Mehndi and Sangeet. A symphony of laughter, singing, and chatter filled the air, punctuated by the unrestrained exuberance of dancing children. Aditya and I, along with our friends, were engaged in our favorite pastime: teasing Aditya. But then, the grand hall doors swung open, and the world seemed to shift on its axis. Bhabhi entered, followed by Adwitya.
To deny the enchantment that washed over me would be a gross understatement. She was a vision. An Arctic blue strap-sleeved Sharara set draped her form, accentuated by the shimmer of heavy earrings, bangles, and rings. Her braided hair, with delicate strands escaping to frame her face, lent her an ethereal grace. The simplicity of her makeup only amplified her natural beauty, making her resemble a fairy, a dream made real – just as she had when I first laid eyes on her. Does she even realize, my heart pounded, that every color she graces becomes another precious addition to my ever-growing list of favorites? My reverie was shattered by the return of my friends' teasing, and I, too, joined in, though my eyes couldn't resist stealing covert glances at her from time to time.
Time seemed to warp, and before I knew it, three hours had slipped by. I noticed Adwitya seated, her hands delicately posed for the henna artist. It was at this precise moment that Dad, Chachu, Ashok Uncle, and Nikhil Uncle approached our little group.
"Boys, what are you all doing here?" Ashok Uncle asked, a playful glint in his eyes. "Fill your plates with food and come feed your partners."
"You're right, Uncle," Aditya agreed, nodding.
Adikhshit bhai nodded in agreement, and Ruhan added, "I think Shikha is hungry too, I'll get something for her."
"Aarav bete, you also take one for Adwitya," Ashok Uncle said, his gaze settling on me.
Nodding, I stepped away to make a quick call. Even though I would have loved nothing more than to feed her with my own hands, I knew it might make her uncomfortable with everyone watching. I didn't want to add to her unease.
"Come down to the hall in five minutes," I instructed, ending the call without waiting for a response.
I returned to the hall, collecting food for her. As I approached Adwitya, I noticed her cheeks flush crimson. She avoided my gaze, and I had to call her name to get her attention..
"Adwitya," I said, my voice low.
"Jii," she whispered, her eyes finally meeting mine.
"Your lunch, I..." I began, but she cut me off, requesting I leave the plate. Her cheeks deepened in color.
"Kaise?" I asked, a playful tease in my tone, gesturing to her henna-covered hands.
Before she could reply, Anaaya appeared, ready to assist. I handed her the plate, and she began feeding Adwitya, much to the amusement of those around us. The word "Bhabhi" echoed in my ears, a sweet, almost possessive thought.
Later, I was joined by Sridha, Aditya's sister. As she recounted a funny college story, I saw Adwitya leave for the elevator. A pang of unease settled within me. Was she embarrassed by our earlier interaction?
Returning to my room, I attended a scheduled call. When the meeting ended, I glanced at the time; it was time for the Puja. I changed into another kurta and stood before my room door. A delicate tinkling sound caught my attention. I looked up and was instantly mesmerized. Adwitya was walking towards the elevator, a vision in a simple brown Anarkali suit with golden embroidery, adorned only with earrings. I was lost in admiration when my phone rang, shattering the moment. I frowned at the caller ID, hung up, and stepped out, only to find she had disappeared.
After the Puja, Aditya and I returned to our rooms to change. I dressed in a Black shirts, pants and a Black blazer and headed to the hotel bar to oversee the arrangements. Then, we moved to the second floor, where Aditya's bachelor's party was to be held. As guests began to arrive, we stood by the glass wall, looking down. That's when I saw her again, walking towards the stairs. She wore a full-sleeved black bodycon dress, reaching mid-thigh, her hair loose and flowing, and her lips painted a vibrant red. God, she looked stunning. How could she exude such a captivating mix of hot and innocent?
It was around 2, when I returned to my room. As I opened the door and was about to step inside, Sridha called out to me, "Aarav Bhaiya."
Turning to her, I asked, "Sridha, you aren't asleep yet?"
"No, I'm going to Bhai's room," she replied. "Bhaiya isn't drunk, right?"
"Yeah, he isn't," I answered, smiling at her. My gaze shifted to Adwitya, who was walking towards us, her expression unreadable.
"Oh, okay then I'm going to his room I've..." Before she could finish her sentence, Adwitya pushed me inside my room and slammed the door shut. She then pulled me towards the couch, forcing me to sit. Hovering over me, she bit my left dimple harshly, then kissed the spot. "You should not talk to them, showing your worth-dying smile," she slurred, her words laced with a mix of alcohol and possessiveness. Oh, my girl is jealous, I thought, a flicker of amusement mixing with the growing warmth in my chest. But she is drunk.
"How much did you drink?" I asked, amused.
Instead of answering, she said, "I'm not answering, you did not listen to me," and hugged me tightly. "You have me," she whispered in my ear.
Damn, I thought, my senses reeling. This wasn't going to be good. My usual composure was slipping away. "What did you say?" I asked, my voice low and husky.
"You have me," she repeated, her grip tightening. "Why do you show your dimples to other girls?"
"Adwitya, aap..." I began, but she silenced me with a finger to my lips, her gaze intense. She leaned in, biting my neck really hard, a hiss escaping my lips. Then, she sucked on the spot, leaving a lingering kiss, and looked back into my eyes. "This is your punishment," she whispered.
A surge of heat coursed through me, and I could feel the growing bulge in my pants. Her hands grabbed my hair, and she bit my cheeks again, moving to my neck, kissing my Adam's apple and leaving another hickey. I raised my hands, instinctively wanting to hold her, but stopped myself. I had consumed some alcohol too, and if this continued, I couldn't guarantee what would happen. Closing my eyes, I tried to regain control, which was hanging by a thread thanks to this little vixen who wouldn't even remember a thing in the morning. Fisting my hands, I let her do what she was doing. After a few minutes, her breathing slowed, and I opened my eyes to find her asleep in my arms.
Gently, I picked her up and laid her on the bed, switching off the lights. I went to the washroom for a much-needed cold shower.
Coming out of the washroom, wearing my joggers, I looked at the sleeping angel. Her face glowed differently in the moonlight. I wanted to pull her into my arms right then, but shaking my head, I sat on the couch, watching her until I fell asleep.
I woke to a sharp pain in my neck. Opening my eyes, I was greeted by the most beautiful sight I could imagine, a view I wished to see every single day for the rest of my life: Adwitya, sleeping peacefully, hugging a pillow. I carefully placed a glass of water and medicine on the side table, gently brushed stray hairs from her face, and put on a t-shirt before heading to the gym.
After an hour-long workout, I returned to my room and removed my t-shirt. I was met with a pair of wide eyes staring at me.
"Good morning," I said, a smirk playing on my lips.
"Go...Good mor...morning," she stammered, holding her head and her eyes raking over me, before suddenly widening.
Stepping closer to her, I asked, "Like what you see?" As she slid off the bed and her gaze fell on my neck, I added with a smirk, "Didn't like the artwork you did last night?"
Her eyes widened at my words, her cheeks flushing crimson, and she fled the room. I chuckled at her flustered reaction and headed to the washroom.
Adwitya's POV
I woke with a throbbing headache, disoriented. Looking around, I realized I was in a strange room. Holding my head, I tried to piece together the fragments of the previous night. Just then, the door opened, and Aarav ji walked in. He was shirtless, sweaty, and utterly captivating. My eyes widened, and I found myself shamelessly drooling.
"Good morning," he said, a smirk playing on his lips.
"Go...Good mor...morning," I stammered, my gaze lingering on his toned physique. Then, my eyes landed on a dark red mark on his neck. My eyes widened.
Coming closer to me he said, "Like what you see?", with a smirk on his face.
Getting down, I got a closer look at that mark. It was a hickey. "Didn't like the artwork you created last night?", I heard him say with that little smirk on his face.
My cheeks flushed crimson as the memories of my drunken escapade flooded back. My eyes widened at his words, and I ran away from his room, mortified.
After coming back to my room, I went to the washroom immediately and stood under the shower, hoping the cold water would wash away the embarrassment. But even under the icy spray, the images of my behavior replayed in my mind. Every single thing I did last night. My cheeks heated up, and I face-palmed myself. How could I do this to him? How will I face him now? I prayed for the earth to swallow me whole, or for a divine intervention to make me disappear.
Just then, the doorbell rang. My heart pounded. In my flustered state, I completely forgot I was still wearing my bathrobe and opened the door. There, standing before me, was Aarav ji, the very man I'd managed to embarrass myself in front of. He looked me up and down, his ears reddening slightly, before quickly averting his gaze. He handed me a small package. "Take this medicine after breakfast," he said, his voice low and somewhat strained. "It will ease your headache." Then, without another word, he turned and walked away.
Stepping back into my room, the full weight of my situation crashed down on me. I stared at my reflection, the thin fabric of the bathrobe a stark reminder of my folly. Way to embarrass yourself even more, Adwitya, I thought, sinking onto the bed, a wave of mortification washing over me.
Despite the lingering embarrassment, I knew I couldn't hide in my room forever. I forced myself to get ready, choosing a vibrant canary yellow crop top, wide-legged pants with a flowing shrug, and accessorizing with bold earrings, bangles, and a ring bracelet. With a deep breath and a determined stride, I slipped into my heels and emerged from my room, joining Anshiiiiii as we made our way to the garden, where the vibrant Haldi function awaited us.
The first thing that caught my eye was Aarav ji, standing amidst the yellow decorations, wearing a matching chikankari kurta. Seriously, does this man have a personal stylist? How does he manage to look so effortlessly attractive in everything? I wondered, my gaze lingering a moment too long. "I know he's hot, but try to keep the drooling to a minimum," Anshiiiiii teased, her eyes wide with playful amusement, and she burst into laughter.
I rolled my eyes, trying to suppress the blush creeping up my neck. My gaze swept over the vibrant scene. Yellow and white curtains, adorned with strings of fragrant marigold flowers, created a cheerful backdrop. Two large bowls, positioned at the center and separated by another vibrant yellow curtain, held the haldi paste, ready for the festivities. The function began with the elders lovingly applying haldi to Anshiiiiii and Aditya jiju, their faces glowing with blessings. Soon, the atmosphere transformed into a playful haldi holi, with everyone gleefully smearing the yellow paste on each other. By the end, we were all a vibrant shade of yellow, and my cheeks, already flushed, were now an unmistakable shade of tomato red. Even the thick layer of haldi couldn't conceal my embarrassment when I caught my reflection in the mirror.
After a much-needed, thorough shower, I began preparing for Anshiiiiii's wedding. My heart fluttered with excitement for my best friend. Finally, her happily ever after was beginning! Yet, a wave of sympathy washed over me for Aditya jiju, anticipating the whirlwind of chaos that was about to become his life. With these conflicting thoughts swirling in my mind, I headed to Anshiiiiii's room.
Once inside, I focused on ensuring Anshiiiiii looked absolutely radiant. I carefully applied kohl to accentuate the beauty of her eyes, making sure she was picture perfect. With a satisfied nod, I stepped out, joining other friends who were eagerly awaiting the ceremony.
